2011 (underway)

I realized it’s been a while since posting any “News” on this site (though I’ve posted elsewhere, such as the blog, etc.). 2011 is off to a good start and looks to be a good musical year! A few quick updates:

• The gigs have lightened up because of a couple of recording projects I’m pretty excited about. One is for a funk group, and the other is for something I’m cooking up with a longtime partner in crime. More on both later – no need to rush things here!

Zentropy has maintained a steady performance schedule along with accomplishing some recording. We’ll be performing during the Galveston Mardi Gras this weekend, and at Houston’s Last Concert Cafe at the end of the month. Continue to keep checking in on the Itinerary page for more gigs.

• I recently taught some masterclasses at an area high school with a solid band program. I’ll soon resume teaching private lessons, and am quite looking forward to it.

• The MT-Headed Blog continues to chug away. Slowly but surely, articles are cranking out as I have the time. (I’m still flattered that it was plugged by both PRISM Quartet – twice! – and my idol Dave Liebman last year via Facebook and Twitter!)

• The Contacts/Links page has FINALLY been updated.

• Preparations for my MSU Study Abroad course continue. (A big thank you to my colleague Prof. d’Ann de Simone for all her time and help!)

• REMINDER: Though I have yet to enable it for gigs – and still unsure if I want to – please make sure you subscribe to both this News page and The MT-Headed Blog so the updates go straight to you as they’re posted.

Thanks for continuing to check back!
