Live Ambient Sets in East Lansing on 04.20

Matt and I will be playing at East Lansing, MI’s Wanderer’s Tea House on Saturday 04.20.13. If you’re local and enjoy our album Convocation, do come out. It’s FREE and from 7:00-10:00 PM. Wanderer’s provides a nice ambient-friendly atmosphere. (It’s pretty rare for these ambient sets to get positive reception outside of art galleries, but we’ve had multiple successes at Wanderer’s.)

Praise for ‘Convocation’

Some more great news for Convocation:

The album received quite a positive review from Hypnagogue, a very comprehensive review site for ambient and electronic music. You can read the whole thing here.
— “I’m going to be very surprised if this doesn’t end up on a lot of ‘Best Of’ lists this year. You have to hear Convocation.”

Our album was also included on Echoes‘s Top 25 list for March 2013. A pleasant surprise!

Thanks for all the continued support!

UPDATED 04.09.13:
A nice review was published in this month’s edition of textura. Full article here.
— “Guitarist Matt Borghi and saxophonist Michael Teager have fashioned a wonderful ambient-styled recording that distinguishes itself dramatically from others in the genre.”

Airplay for ‘Convocation’

Convocation has been getting some airplay recently. Matt and I pretty thankful for that, as the album’s ambient, long form approach isn’t conducive to many listening formats. This past Sunday, “Convocation” was featured on WVKR‘s Secret Music. Last month, “Precipice” was played on WDIY‘s Galactic Travels, and then Convocation was included in Monthly Top 20. Very cool to see.

To those who’ve checked out the album, thanks for the support. If you haven’t yet, the original plug is here.

UPDATE: I see that “Constant Apex” was included on PRI’s Echoes! The full playlist is here.
